Barnes Design group has provided architectural services for churches, hotels, residences, commercial projects, industrial expansions, restaurants, and government work for over 25 years. Our extensive experience working with clients both nationally and international has provided us with the tools to solve diverse architectural problems.



Over time, Barnes Design Group has become known as church design specialists. With over 800 church projects, our firm has developed an efficient approach to unique design solutions for new buildings, renovations and master planning. Over the last 18 years, the firm has grown as other architects with similar passions have brought their talents to the number one church architectural firm in Virginia.



Although known as the church specialist, Barnes Design Group continues to use its design edge to serve clients in all aspects of architecture.

Harvest Church
The Harvest Church facility underwent a significant transformation focused on modernizing its exterior aesthetics and expanding its functional spaces. The renovation includes a complete exterior redesign of the existing 11,402 sq. ft. sanctuary, featuring a sophisticated material palette of EIFS, stone veneer, corrugated metal wall panels, and composite metal panels. A striking new glass entry addition serves as a welcoming focal point, enhancing both the visual identity and accessibility of the sanctuary. View Project

First Baptist Church Morrison
This project involved the construction of a new 514-seat sanctuary as a major addition to the church’s original facility. Designed to complement and enhance the existing structure, the addition significantly expands the church’s worship capacity while introducing a refreshed architectural identity. View Project

Potter's House Arizona

Potter's House Arizona
Barnes Design Group was commissioned to expand and modernize the Potter’s House Church in Arizona, to enhance both the aesthetics and functionality. The project features a new 55,000 sq. ft. sanctuary building with a 3,000+ seat auditorium, spacious lobbies, and a fully integrated administrative office suite. The building’s exterior design incorporates EIFS cladding for energy efficiency and durability, along with a bold composite metal and glass entry feature that establishes a strong contemporary identity. Daycare

Daycare
A typical daycare space in the traditional church building is now the fun and exciting space children love to flock to. The modern, secure check-in center for receiving the children affords the parents comfort knowing the children are safe.  The individual play areas are upgraded with soft carpeted floors and comfortable  furnishings for the children to relax and enjoy their play time on.  The modern elements and bright colors on the walls make for an all-around pleasant experience for the children.
