New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church

Although their extensive history can be traced to as far back as 1862, New Oak Grove Baptist Church continues to look toward the future as their ministry thrives. The church contacted Barnes Design Group in 2009 seeking to add a large social hall on their 10.5 acre property located in a rural section of Virginia Beach, known as Blackwater. Also on their mind was to include a large, welcoming lobby space, a new grouping of centrally located restrooms and a fresh, inspiring look for the church building overall.

Served by a large commercial kitchen, the new social hall would accommodate banquets of up to 350 people, and includes a performance platform, backstage dressing areas, a large conference room and a series of large classrooms separated by solid retractable partitions for flexibility.
