Plaza Azteca

The challenge of the design for Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant was to design an authentic building utilizing some authentic forms and imagery from old Mexico. Our design strategy included visiting Mexico with the client and photographing different images which would be appropriate to utilize in our building here in Tidewater. Another challenge and objective of the design was to embrace certain elements that could be utilized on a “vanilla box” to create the Mexican Restaurant thereby allowing the developer to duplicate this restaurant within a variety of new structures as well as existing buildings.
